Sheriff’s Report 09-25-25

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported misdemeanor charges against five individuals.

A Lancaster woman, 32, was charged September 17 with revocation of suspension of sentence of the underlying charge of shoplifting/altering merchandise.

A White Stone man, 60, was charged September 17 with assault and battery of a family or household member.

A Heathsville woman, 48, was charged September 18 with driving a motor vehicle while intoxicated.

A Lancaster woman, 30, was charged September 18 with failure to appear in court on September 17.

A Lancaster man, 66, was charged September 18 with failure to appear in court on September 17.

Activity report

September 15: Staff responded to Morattico and River roads for debris in the highway, to the 100 block of Kathy Drive for a noise complaint, to the 700 block of Christ Church Road for a verbal dispute, and to the 2000 block of Merry Point Road for the report of gunshots in the late evening hours.

September 16: Staff responded to the 200 block of Rocky Neck Road for a domestic disturbance, to the 8000 block of Mary Ball Road for a fraud, to the 8000 block of Mary Ball Road for a suspicious vehicle, and responded to the Robert O. Norris Jr. Memorial Bridge for debris in the highway.

September 17: Staff responded to the 8000 block of Mary Ball Road for harassment, to the 3000 block of Black Stump Road for an adult welfare check, to the 8000 block of Mary Ball Road for a larceny, to the 400 block of Ottoman Ferry Road for a suspicious person, and to the 5000 block of Mary Ball Road for a suspicious vehicle.

September 18: Staff responded to the 100 block of Harris Road for the report of a verbal dispute, and to the 200 block of Methodist Church Road for a juvenile complaint.

September 19: Staff responded to the 3000 block of Merry Point Road for a domestic disturbance, and to the 2000 block of Irvington Road for an adult welfare check.

September 20: Staff responded to the 40 block of Ottoman Ferry Road for a disabled vehicle, to the 100 block of Kathy Drive for a noise complaint, to the 600 block of Loblolly Road for destruction of property, to the 8000 block of River Road for a verbal dispute, and to Taylors Creek and Moran Creek roads for gunshots in the late evening hours.

September 21: Staff responded to the 700 block of King Carter Drive for an adult welfare check, and to the 1300 block of Oak Hill Road for a larceny.

Staff also conducted 43 traffic stops, issued 40 summonses, assisted five motorists, recorded a deer strike accident, handled a request for traffic control, investigated seven building alarms, processed a mental health order, logged three inmate transports, received 3 E911 hang up calls, and fielded four calls for animal control service.

Fire calls

Upper Lancaster Volunteer Fire Department responded to a traffic crash at 849 Beanes Road.

Kilmarnock VFD and White Stone VFD responded to a vehicle fire at 329 Keith Avenue.

Those charged with alleged crimes are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
