
LANCASTER—Esther Williams Stevens, 76, of Lancaster went to be with the Lord on October 15, 2025. She was the widow of Thomas E. Stevens and the daughter of the late Herbert E. and Julia Bowen Williams.
Esther was a retired employee of Kellum Seafood in Irvington and bank teller at the Bank of Lancaster. She was an active lifelong member and deacon of Corrottoman Baptist Church.
Esther is survived by her son, W. Troy Elswick (Amanda), (Brittany); step-daughters, Robin L. Stevens (Morgan) and Julie E. Stevens of Arizona; and grandchildren, W. Blake Elswick, Kimberly S. Elswick and Bradley L. Elswick; and brother, Mark Williams (Peggy) of Lancaster.
Along with her parents, Esther was preceded in death by her sister, Ellen Cooke.
Visitation was held Tuesday, October 21, at Currie Funeral Home in Kilmarnock. Funeral services took place Wednesday, October 22, at Corrottoman Baptist Church in Ottoman, with interment in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Corrotoman Baptist Church or Riverside Hospice.
