“Been Here, Stay Here,” a small, low-budget documentary focusing on the effect of climate change on Tangier Island in the Chesapeake Bay, had a successful six-week run at Compass Cinema Six in Irvington.
The movie, originally planned for just a one-week stay on the local screen, was so popular with movie-goers its showings were extended week-after-week. According to Compass sales and marketing events manager Christina Mixon, industry insiders have taken notice, calling this success “proof that these little markets can kick a top 36.”
