Women in American History award recipient honored at reception

HEATHSVILLE—At a reception on Thursday, October 17, hosted by the Friends of Northumberland Community Library in Heathsville, Dr. Hilary Derby of Reedville was honored as a National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR) Women in American History award recipient.  

The NSDAR honor is in recognition of Dr. Derby’s outstanding contributions as a historian, author, artist and community leader whose life exemplifies the ideals of historic preservation, education and patriotic service, reported Cobbs Hall chapter regent Catherine Bennett.
