LANCASTER—The Lancaster County Circuit Court convened Friday, November 14 with the Hon. John S. Martin presiding.
Kyle L. George Jr. of White Stone, pleaded guilty to misdemeanors for entering property to damage and petit larceny. A sentencing hearing was scheduled for January 23.
In the case of Nicholas D. Purcell of White Stone, charged with a felony for perjury, falsely swearing an oath, a motion to quash a witness subpoena was granted and motions to disqualify the defense attorney and Commonwealth’s Attorney were denied. A trial was scheduled for January 16. Purcell also is appealing a General District Court misdemeanor conviction for DWI, second offense. That trial is scheduled for December 12.
John R. Martin of Lancaster pleaded guilty to a felony for carrying a concealed weapon, second offense. He was given a five-year suspended sentence with five years of probation and charged $425 in court costs. He also was charged with a felony for assault on a law enforcement officer. That charge was nolle prossed.
In the case of Rodney E. Wiggins Jr. of Mollusk, previously found not guilty by reason of insanity for attempted first degree murder; shooting a firearm from a vehicle and shooting into an occupied building; a status hearing was scheduled for November 21.
