
A record number of Yankee Point Yacht Club (YPYC) members attended the group’s recent annual meeting in Lancaster to review the organization’s activities and accomplishments over the past year and to chart a course for the future.
“It’s great to see so many folks turn out because it indicates a real interest in the club,” said commodore Jonathon Truwit.
He went on to introduce current board members and called for individual reports which highlighted racing participation, results and awards; maintenance and ground improvements; implementation and coordination of social events; review of financial statements; statement of membership goals; communications activity; cruising and seminar information; Wednesday evening programs; and web and online presence.
When immediate past commodore Win Schwab was called upon he stated that as chair of the nominating committee—a job that is traditionally dreaded—he was particularly grateful to report that all of the current board members had agreed to serve another year….
