Celtic Service to celebrate return of ‘Sun’s Light to Earth’

Grace Episcopal Church, 303 South Main Street, Kilmarnock, will host a Celtic Service at 5:30 p.m. Sunday, January 11.

All are welcome, reported Laura Rowe of the Grace Celtic Musicians. A light meal will be served afterwards.

The Celtic calendar may have originated in the Iron Age. The ancient festivals marked the lunar and solar cycles because they influenced the plantings as well as the harvests, said Rowe.
