KILMARNOCK—Dorothy Jean Thomas, 87, of Kilmarnock passed away December 26, 2025. She was the widow of Andrew Broadus Thomas Jr.
Dorothy was a retired nurse’s aide with the Lancashire Nursing Home (now known as Lancashire Nursing and Rehabilitation Center) and a member of White Marsh Church.
Dorothy is survived by her son, Andrew “Keith” Thomas of Kilmarnock; and three grandchildren, Ashley Lauren Sweet (Justin) of King George, Abigail “Abby” Elizabeth Thomas (Garrett) of Ashburn and Rebecca Nicole Provenzano of Newport News; one great-grandchild, Evelyn “Evie” Nicole Sweet. She is also survived by her brother, Leonard Jackson “Jack” Acors and his wife Kathy of White Stone.
She was predeceased by her daughter, Dorothy Dean “Deanie” Provenzano.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, January 8, at Currie Funeral Home in Kilmarnock. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at White Marsh Church Cemetery in Lancaster.
