Bay Aging wins national recognition as a leader in business innovation

On behalf of the Bay Aging and VAAACares, president and chief executive officer Kathy Vesley-Massey recently accepted The John A. Hartford Foundation Business Innovation Award.

The award was presented to Vesley-Massey by foundation program director Ranie Snyder in Savannah, Georgia during the National Association of Area Agencies on Aging Annual Conference and Tradeshow July 31, in Savanna, Ga.

The award recognizes Bay Aging’s leadership in developing VAAACares—Virginia Area Agencies on Aging Caring for the Commonwealth, reported director of development Jean Duggan.

VAAACares was cited as the best example in the nation of a community-based organization delivering a bold transformative initiative, uniting Area Agencies on Aging across Virginia to integrate with health plans, health care and long-term services and supports, said Duggan.
