White Stone supports concept of a farmers and artisans market

WHITE STONE—By unanimous consensus, the White Stone Town Council has supported an effort by business owners to start a monthly, seasonal farmers and artisans market.

Carrie Allen, owner of August Table, presented the plan to council on Thursday, March 5.

The proposal met with only positive comments from council members with the only concern coming from councilman Irving Brittingham. “We may need some coordination with the local sheriff’s department and White Stone police,” he said.

Allen was joined by Marie Sanders of Out of the Oven Bakery, Leisa Gerber of Old Farm Truck and Liza Carter of Pointe Provisions. They also mentioned several other business owners who are excited about the prospect of….
