WEEMS—James Kenneth Blake, passed away at home in Weems on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at the age of 83. Kenny was born on December 4, 1942, to the late James Norman and Virginia Somers Blake.
Kenny was a graduate of Lancaster High School. He was also a member of the Lancaster County Lions Club and served in the U.S. Army.
Along with his parents, Kenny was preceded in death by his sisters, Connie B. Godwin and Janice B. Lee.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Andy; his son, Kenneth Harris Blake (Kelley); two grandchildren, James Dylan Blake and Kylie Addison Blake; sisters, Carolyn B. Franklin, Linda B. Kellum (Joe) and Trudi B. Haynie (Andy); and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Kenny worked at Safeway for 26 years and was produce manager at Tri-Star for 29 years.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 21, at Claybrook Baptist Church in Weems. A reception will follow the service.
Currie Funeral Home LLC of Kilmarnock handled the arrangements.
