Lancaster man charged with multiple firearms violations stemming from Virginia Beach shooting on April 11

VIRGINIA BEACH—A Lancaster man has been charged for his part in a shooting incident that occurred on the oceanfront in Virginia Beach on April 11.

Ja’Quarrias Damerrion Morris, 20, of Lancaster has been charged with seven counts of aggravated malicious wounding, seven counts of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and seven counts of reckless handling of a firearm with injury.

Another 18-year-old male from Lancaster also was injured in the shooting.

According to the Virginia Beach Police Department (VBPD), Morris is one of three people who have been charged in connection with the incident, which remains under investigation.

At approximately 9:50 p.m. on April 11, VBPD responded to gunfire in the 1400 block of Atlantic Avenue, where they found eight people suffering from gunshot…
