Sheriff’s Report 04-23-26

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported charges against four individuals.

Felony

Ethan Francis Foley, 27, of Lancaster was charged April 19 with driving a motor vehicle while intoxicated, third offense within 10 years, refusal to submit breath/or blood for chemical test (misdemeanor) and driving a motor vehicle on the highway at a speed of 73 miles per hour which was in excess of the applicable maximum speed of 55 miles per hour (summons).

Misdemeanors

A Cool Ridge, W.Va., man, 52, was charged April 14 with failure to appear on January 17 for summons to answer interrogations.

A Weems man, 64, was charged April 17 for failure to appear in court April 13.

A Weems man, 40, was charged April 18 for failure to appear in court February 18.

April 13: Staff responded to the 8000 block of Mary Ball Road for a verbal dispute, to the 500 block of Oliver Lane for an adult welfare check, to Kamps Mill Road for a suspicious vehicle, to the 8000 block of Mary Ball Road for identity theft, and to the Robert O. Norris Jr. Memorial Bridge for a reckless driver.

April 14: Staff responded to the 80 block of School Street for a fight in progress, and to the Norris Bridge for a reckless driver.

April 15: Staff responded to the 7000 block of River Road for a suspicious vehicle, and to the 8000 block of Mary Ball Road for the violation of protective order.

April 16: Staff responded to the 400 Block of North Main Street for a check theft and forgery, to the 600 block of North Main Street for shooting inside an occupied building, to Weems and Christ Church roads for a single-vehicle traffic crash, to the 2000 block of Morattico Road for an adult welfare check, to the 500 block of Hoecake Road for threats, and to the Norris Bridge for debris in the highway.

April 17: Staff responded to the 8000 block of Mary Ball Road for a two-vehicle traffic crash, to the 8000 block of Mary Ball Road for legal advice, to the 100 block of Reynolds Farm Road for a scam, to the 11000 block of River Road for a verbal disagreement, to the 8000 block of Mary Ball Road for threats, to the 200 block of Rappahannock Drive for a single-vehicle traffic crash, and to the 10 block of Brent Court for an assault.

April 18: Staff responded to the 900 block of Irvington Road for a domestic disturbance, and to Buzzards Neck Road for gunshots in the late evening.

April 19: Staff responded to the 800 block of Chesapeake Drive for a domestic disturbance and to the 100 block of East Highview Drive for a civil complaint.

Staff also conducted 31 traffic stops, issued 25 summonses, assisted seven motorists, recorded three deer strike accidents, handled two requests for traffic control, investigated four building alarms, processed two mental health orders, logged two inmate transports and received 13 E911 hang up calls.

Fire calls

Kilmarnock Volunteer Fire Department responded to separate fire alarms on South Main Street and Old Fairgrounds Way, separate traffic crashes on North Main Street and at Weems and Christ Church roads, and with White Stone VFD to a brush fire on Bluff Point Road.

Upper Lancaster VFD responded to a brush fire on River Road.

Reminder, those charged with alleged crimes are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
