All 10 LHS grapplers place in regional tournament, seven qualify for Class 1 state meet

Lancaster will send seven wrestlers to the Class 1 championships in Salem in two weeks after finishing fourth as a team and having all 10 of its wrestlers place during the Region 1A tournament in Mathews on Saturday, February 7.

From left, Schuyler Camden, Curshawn Porter, Darius Chun-Long, River Diaz, Ashby Russell, Isaac Hernandez and Scott Randall will represent Lancaster at the Class 1 state championships.

The Red Devils had two gold medalists with Ashby Russell securing his third straight regional championship and River Diaz winning his second regional title. Russell went 3-0 with three pins at 165 pounds to win that weight class. Diaz had two pins and a win by decision at 150 pounds to go unbeaten at 3-0.
