All state sandlot team  includes four LHS standouts

The Lancaster High School varsity baseball team had four honored among the best in the state.

The Virginia High School League (VHSL) announced its 2023 Class 1 all-state baseball team July 11 with two LHS players on the first team and two on the second.

William Campbell senior shortstop and pitcher Tyler Mason is the Class 1 player of the year and Cody Compton of Lebanon is the Class 1 coach of the year. The honor team was released by VHSL director of communications Mike McCall.

LHS senior second baseman Sean Thomas and junior shortstop Creston Saunders were named to the first team, while senior pitcher Jonathan Lee and senior outfielder Ben Pittman received second team honors.

Thomas played in 26 games with a batting average of .412 including….
