WHITE STONE—A waterfowl show will return to White Stone in 2025 in some shape or form, according to White Stone Volunteer Fire Department (WSVFD) member and town councilman Charles Brocklebank.
He delivered the exciting news to White Stone Town Council on Thursday, April 4. The decision was made during a fire department meeting last week, said Brocklebank.
The Rappahannock River Waterfowl Show held its 43rd and final show in mid-March. The show, which featured wildfowl art, carvings, photography, sculptures and a decoy contest, has benefited WSVFD since its second year in 1981. Coordinator Pat and William Bruce have spearheaded the event since its inception and decided the recent two-day show, plus preview night gala, would be their last.
“We are planning to keep the show going with a different name,” said Brocklebank. “But the show will not end.”
