
Twenty-four artists participated in the third Art in Transit art competition, a collaboration between the RAL Art Center and Bay Transit.
RAL Art Center executive director Sharon Mason Stone and Bay Transit executive director Ken Pollock announced the winners at a reception May 19 at the RAL Art Center, 19 North Main Street, Kilmarnock.
This exhibit was judged by Pam Doss, executive director of the Bay School Community Arts Center, and Mike Stevens, owner of Gander Designs. Stevens possesses the expertise for designing and producing the large format application of vehicle wrap used for this project, reported Mary Ellis.
Doss said the selections that were made reflect how the artwork would look on the bus, and how it would feel seeing it as the art passes by on winding country roads. The judges felt that three paintings stood out above all the rest.
