Audubon to host osprey presentation

The Northern Neck Audubon Chapter will meet from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, May 17, at Grace Episcopal Church, 303 South Main Street, Kilmarnock. The guest speaker will be Will Poston of the Chesapeake Bay Foundation (CBF).

The public and members are invited to hear the free presentation,“The Osprey and Menhaden Issue,” reported Kevin Howe.

Poston, the CBF forage campaign manager, has a degree from Miami University and previously has held positions in the natural resources field including with American Saltwater Guides Association and Flylords Magazine.

Osprey are large fish-eating raptors with the North American population migrating north from South America in the spring and returning to South America in the fall. They breed and raise young throughout much of the world, but most populations are quite small compared to the Chesapeake Bay which presently is home to….
