Investigators believe they have recovered the body of David LaForge of Northumberland County, according to Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie.
A body was recovered in Gloucester County August 30. LaForge was reported missing August 23 and last seen departing his place of employment in Burgess.
The recovery was a joint effort among the Lancaster County and Northumberland County Sheriff’s Offices and the Virginia State Police dive team.
A person of interest in LaForge’s death has been identified, said Sheriff McCranie.
The investigation continues.
