Aviation and maritime history are focus of July 20 luncheon

The Northern Neck-Middle Peninsula Chapter, Virginia Aeronautical Historical Society, meet at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, July 20, at the Pilot House Restaurant, 2737 Point Road, Topping.

Guest speaker John “Jack” Yunker Sr., former naval aviator, career pilot and  licensed Merchant Marine, will tell the story of the Liberty Ships, World War II life-line transports and the objects of the eventual air defense innovations that turned the tables on Germany’s dreaded U-boats in the North Atlantic.
