
The Richard Henry Lee Chapter (RHLC), Virginia Society, Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) on Saturday, July 12, will celebrate the 249th anniversary of the Battle of Cricket Hill/Gwynn’s Island with a ceremony in front of the earthworks of the American Patriot battle site at Morningstar Marinas, 249 Mill Point Road, Hudgins. The celebration will begin at 10 a.m. and the public is welcome.
SAR will muster a Color Guard dressed in colonial attire of continental soldiers and militia, reported Michael Rhodes. There will be a musket fire component. The keynote speaker will be SAR compatriot Dr. Patrick Hannum of the Norfolk Chapter, Virginia Society SAR.
