Bay Transit and local officials unveil new bus shelter in Callao

CALLAO—Bay Transit, the Northern Neck Planning District Commission (NNPDC), Northumberland County, and the Callao Hometown Community Association (CHCA) on Friday, September 13, held a ribbon cutting ceremony in the parking lot of Nino’s Pizza, 58 Northumberland Highway, Callao, to celebrate the installation of a new Bay Transit bus shelter.

Northumberland District 1 supervisor A. Joseph Self Sr., CHCA president and Callao Revitalization Management team member Lisa Deitz, and Bay Transit director Ken Pollock, participated in the ceremony to officially unveil the new bus shelter.

In addition to protection from the elements, Bay Transit’s new bus shelters provide bench seating and solar powered lighting that automatically illuminate at dusk and turn off at dawn.
