Beale Memorial Baptist to host women’s conference

The Connect Women’s Ministry of Beale Memorial Baptist Church will host a Dare to Be Women’s Conference March 9 at the church 19622 Tidewater Trail, Tappahannock.

This one-day event joins women from all walks of life for a day of praise, worship, fellowship and Biblical teaching, reported administrative assistant Dale Mitchell.

The guest speaker will be author and international speaker Rosalinda Rivera of Richmond.

Rivera recently was recognized by Style Magazine as a Top 40 under 40 young leaders making an impact in the city of Richmond for a better change.

Volunteering is a part of Rivera’s everyday life, from coaching for the YMCA to founding Sports Challenge, an outreach of New Life for Youth. Her heart and her passion are helping people. Sports Challenge hosts sports camps throughout Richmond in the most devastated communities impacted by crime and drugs. Each child at no cost is given an opportunity to learn about a sport while engaging in prevention—encouraging them to make right choices.

She has led mission trips around the world bringing aid to literally tens of thousands of children and families in developing countries. Following September 11th, she organized fundraising efforts delivering over $10,000 in financial aid to the Red Cross. When Katrina hit the gulf coast, Rivera immediately coordinated relief efforts. With the help of a local pilot and plane she was privileged to deliver a plane full of diapers, bottles and blankets as well as financial aid to desperate families…
