Belle Isle State Park education support specialist Rachel Howell recently posted the July event calendar.
All activities will be held at Belle Isle State Park, 1632 Belle Isle Road, Lancaster. A $5 parking fee is payable at the park entrance.
Park visitors are reminded of a River Road detour. To reach the park, those heading north on River Road from White Chapel Road will need to take a right onto Nuttsville Road, a left onto Morattico Road, a left back onto River Road and a right on Belle Isle Road. Those heading north on Mary Ball Road from Kilmarnock should pass through Lively, turn left onto Morattico Road, left onto River Road and right onto Belle Isle Road. Those heading south from Robley will continue on Mary Ball Road, right onto River Road and right onto Belle Isle Road, avoiding the detour route.
Friday, July 3, activities will include:
• 4 p.m., Celebrating the Red, White and Blue at the Campground Bath House. Join a ranger to make a beaded bracelet or necklace to wear to holiday outings and learn about this special American holiday.
• 6 p.m., S’more Campfire-DCR 100, Amphitheater. Enjoy a ranger-led campfire featuring Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) history and s’mores! All supplies are provided.
Saturday, July 4, activities will include:
