A bluebird nesting box recently was installed adjacent to the playground at the Lancaster Early Childhood Education Center in Kilmarnock just in time for the spring breeding season.
The box was made possible by a grant from River Counties Community Foundation and the Virginia Bluebird Society. Several members of the Northern Neck Master Naturalists installed the pole and nesting box. To deter predators, a noel guard was added to the box and a baffle attached to the pole.
