KILMARNOCK—Bobby Alvin Pope of Kilmarnock died January 30, 2020.
He was born March 5, 1958, to the late Orise James Pope and Merita Ahart Carter Pope in Kilmarnock.
Bobby grew up in Kilmarnock. He was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church. He graduated from Lancaster High School in 1976. where he was in the high school band. He attended Virginia State College (now University) on a band scholarship as a marching Trojan. He worked as a painter for over 25 years.
Bobby was predeceased by his parents; his brothers, Jimmy, and Wayne; and his sisters, Elaine and Joyce.
Bobby is survived by a daughter, Brooke Pope; and a sister, Juanita “Cookie” Fisher.
A funeral was held Friday, February 7, at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Wicomico Church. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
