Bonnalynn “Lynn” B. Pritchard

Bonnalynn “Lynn” B. Pritchard

IRVINGTON—Bonnalynn “Lynn” Bugg Pritchard of Richmond and Irvington died at home on November 5, 2022.  Lynn was born in Richmond on March 3, 1946.

She was a graduate of Collegiate Schools and Hollins College. She began her career as an elementary teacher, first in Charlottesville and then in the Richmond area. In 1977, she obtained her real estate license and while still teaching school, began her real estate career on a part-time basis.

A move to the Carolinas in the 80s allowed her to leave the workplace and spend time raising her two young sons. Upon returning to Richmond in 1988, she decided to become a full-time realtor. Her engaging personality, impeccable integrity, professionalism, strong work ethic, and laser focus on her client’s needs quickly took her to the top of her profession, where she remained until her retirement in 2017. Lynn was a leader in her industry, earned the highest respect of both her clients and fellow realtors, and was a valued mentor.

Lynn was a member of the Junior League of both Richmond and Columbia, S.C., the Council and Board of Historic Richmond Foundation, Three Chopt Garden Club, Garden Club of the Northern Neck and Wicomico Parish Church.

Lynn will forever be remembered as a loyal and caring friend to those who knew her, for her generous nature, and for her charm and vibrant sense of humor. She loved boating and was an accomplished mate who always insisted that her lines be hung properly. Lynn entertained many fellow boaters with her witty documentation of a boat trip from Sturgeon Bay, Wis., back to her home on Carter Creek. Of all her accomplishments, Lynn will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother and sister who found joy and peace and happiness at home with her boys at the river.

Proceeding her in death were her parents, Albert D. and Bonnalynn “Bonnie” Avery Bugg; and her in-laws, Charles A. and Martha Upshur Pritchard.

She is survived by her husband, Charles Austin Pritchard Jr.; and two sons, Charles Austin Pritchard III (Sarah Voigt Pritchard) of Lake Dunmore, Vt., and Barrett Upshur Pritchard of Edwardsville; and two brothers, A. Davis “Dave” Bugg (Margaret “Peggy” Bradley Bugg) and Bryce A. Bugg (Nancy Schneider Bugg). Also surviving Lynn are nieces and nephews, Albert Davis Bugg III “Tripp” (Adrian), Patricia B. Turner “PJ” (David) and Finley Bugg White (Chris).

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. November 17 at Wicomico Parish Church, 5191 Jessie Ball duPont Highway, Wicomico Church, with a reception to follow.

Memorial donations may be made to Wicomico Parish Church Endowment Fund, PO Box 70, Wicomico Church, VA 22579.
