Like a lot of avid gardeners and part-time farmers across the state, Todd Booth of White Stone and his son, Matthew, were anxiously anticipating the 2020 State Fair of Virginia’s agricultural competitions. But COVID-19 happened—and the State Fair won’t.
“All you can do is imagine. This probably would have been over 200 pounds,” said Matthew, proudly displaying a very large watermelon.
