The ART+ Program of the Boys & Girls Club of the Northern Neck (BGCNN) meets weekly during the school year and focuses on a different famous artist each month.
Club kids learn about the artist and their works and create their own work in the artist’s style. BGCNN also brings in local artists who introduce a variety of mediums including watercolors, oil, pastels, fabric art and sculpture. In addition, the Club brings in local performing artists in areas such as music, dance and theater.
Throughout April, youth explored the work of modernist painter Georgia O’Keeffe. O’Keeffe was known for her paintings of skyscrapers, southwest landscapes and flowers….
