Boys & Girls Club honors three exceptional members

The Boys & Girls Club of the Northern Neck recently announced its Youth of the Month honorees, Jaheir Betts, Layla Harding and Lorraine Haynie.

Betts, 10, a fourth grader at Lancaster Primary School, was selected for the honor because “he is very respectful, outgoing, and will always volunteer a helping hand to staff when needed,” said youth program director Timika Croxton.

Sports are his favorite activities at the Club. Betts participates in both soccer and basketball. He says he dreams of being a professional basketball player when he grows up.

To be chosen Youth of the Month, “you have to be nice, responsible, and do good things,” said Betts.
