The Virginia Department of Historic Resources (DHR) recently announced a state historical marker approved by the Virginia Board of Historic Resources will be dedicated Saturday, October 4, highlighting Brookvale High School, a Lancaster County school that served Black students during the segregation period in Virginia’s public schools in the 20th century.
The dedication will start at 11 a.m., at the marker’s location, 36 Primary School Circle, Lancaster. Public parking will be available directly across the school grounds. On-site parking for the handicapped and the elderly will be provided.
