On Wednesday, November 13, Lancaster Primary School (LPS) welcomed Kathryn Apel, an author from Queensland, Australia, who spoke with students about her cattle farm and the kangaroos that frolic in her backyard.
During this presentation, she read parts of her novel, Bully on the Bus. LPS students spent October and November listening to and reading this story about a boy who is experiencing bullying on the bus to school.
To initiate the novel reading on October 23, National Unity Day, students wore orange to school and showed their book bag tags reminding them to be kind to others and equipping them with tools for success in the event they witness bullying…
