Bon Secours Rappahannock General Hospital recently announced Gloria Burnett, RN, has been named this quarter’s honoree of The DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses.
The award is part of the DAISY Foundation’s mission to recognize the extraordinary, compassionate nursing care they provide patients and families every day.
The DAISY Foundation was established in memory of J. Patrick Barnes, by members of his family. Barnes died at the age of 33 in late 1999 from complications of Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura (ITP), a little known auto-immune disease.
Burnett received multiple nominations from colleagues, many of which spoke to her overwhelming dedication and commitment to providing the best possible care for patients, their families, and her colleagues, reported project coordinator Joanna Marchetti.
