The NNK Wooden Boat School will hold its second Reedville Cardboard Boat Regatta on Saturday, September 19, at Reedville Market Restaurant, 729 Main Street, Reedville. On-site boat building will begin at 8:30 a.m. Racing will follow at 1 p.m.
“Last year’s event was a lot of fun and we’re looking forward to an even bigger and better regatta this year,” said media coordinator Bill Small. “Come on out to build and race, or cheer on the racers.”
Participants may build their boats in advance or at the event. The student class is free to enrolled students ages 21 and younger. The adult class is open to others, ages 18 to 49, and the senior class is open to ages 50 and older. The entry fee is $100 per boat for adults and seniors.
Each entered boat will receive three 4-foot-by-8-foot sheets of cardboard, three rolls of duct tape….
