The history of Carousel Physical Therapy in Kilmarnock is nearly the history of its current owner, Vicki VerMeer, MSPT.
While original owner, Nancy Byrne, was busy opening the practice on Main Street in 1994, VerMeer, was still in college, working on her degree in fitness/wellness from South Dakota State University. VerMeer began her physical therapy career with Carousel five years later in 1999 after receiving a master’s in physical therapy from the University of Osteopathic Medicine and Health Sciences in Des Moines, Iowa.
Shortly after VerMeer arrived, the popular practice moved to its current facility on Irvington Road and a 2005 expansion created a bright, welcoming space with plenty of room for patients, staff and equipment. A second location in Hartfield opened in 2014.
