Carter, Smith and Yates are tapped for Girls State

The Ladies Auxiliary of American Legion Post 86 in Kilmarnock has selected three girls from Lancaster High School to attend Virginia Girls State June 20-26. Due to COVID-19, and to comply with related guidelines, this year’s Girls State Program will be held virtually.

The American Legion Auxiliary was very impressed with the caliber and qualifications of the girls selected to attend, reported coordinator Martha Mahieu. The girls selected to attend are Jaylyn Carter, Hailey Smith and Grayce Yates.
