KILMARNOCK—Catherine Adamo Jenkins, 76, of Florida and Virginia went to be with her Lord on March 14, 2019, after a valiant battle with cancer.
Cathy was a dedicated registered nurse whose career spanned 50 years. She took great pride in caring for her patients and was a pillar of professionalism and empathy. Her generous heart touched many.
She enjoyed traveling, dining out, singing in church and spending time with her children, grandchildren and the rest of her close-knit family.
Cathy was preceded in death by her husband, William Jenkins; mother, Catherine Adamo; brothers, Frank and Joe Adamo; and sister, Helene Hardee.
She leaves to cherish her memory, daughter, Lisa Gale and husband, Tom, of Alexandria; her son, William Jenkins Jr. and wife, Helen, of Virginia Beach; grandchildren, Jay Clegg and wife, Alicia; Beth Clegg, Brandon and Alex Jenkins. She is also survived by her father, Frank Adamo; sister, Nina Smith (Jerry); brother, Tony Adamo (Anna); brother-in-law, Jim Hardee; sister-in-law, Susan Adamo; her husband’s brother, Doug Jenkins (Karen); and numerous nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her faithful canine companion, Buddy.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 17, at Currie Funeral Home, Kilmarnock. Interment was private. Visitation took place an hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
