KILMARNOCK—Charles Arthur Lackert, 85, of Kilmarnock departed this life on August 10, 2021.
Charlie was born January 6, 1936, in Bethpage, Long Island, New York. He moved with his family to Weems in 1946.
Charlie attended Kilmarnock High School which was on School Street. He worked for Kilmarnock Building Supply and with Sylvia Motor Co. as a mechanic. Charlie became a skilled carpenter doing remodeling of many homes in the area.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Catherine and Fred Lackert; his sisters, Caroline Conklin and Anna Smith; his brothers, Fred Jr. and William Lackert and his stepson, Anthony Friscina.
He is survived by his daughters, Virginia Kell (Steve), Charlotte Brewster, Arlene Lackert, Tina Evans (Woody) and Christine Koscienskie; and his son, Charlie Lackert (Crystal); a sister, Grace Smith; a kind and caring neighbor, Becky; a special cousin, Bob Myer; 13 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, August 22, at Wesley Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Weems.
