
REEDVILLE—Charles Wesley Dameron Jr., 81, of Reedville passed away at his residence on July 1, 2020, after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease.
Wesley Jr. was born March 9, 1939, to C. Wesley Dameron Sr. and Leah Headley Dameron in Fairport, where he resided, except during employment, until his passing.
He is survived by his wife, Joy E. Smith Dameron, formerly of Lewes, Del.; son, Charles Kevin Dameron (Robin) of Colonial Beach; daughter, Christine Lynn McCook (Steven) of Jacksonville, Fla.; grandchildren, Daniel, Leah Madison and Lauren; stepchildren, Patricia Marie Doe of Lewes, Karen Elizabeth Doe (David Price) of London, England, Brett Patrick Doe (Alejandra) of Stanardsville and Jeanne Michelle Dukes (Don) of Lewes; and step-grandchildren, Willow, Bryana, Samantha, Mason, Pearson, Aidan, Isabella Marie, Santiago and Guyus.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents, John and Ellie Dameron and Carl and Jessie Headley; and his only sibling, Carl Dale Dameron.
A career as a menhaden fisherman took him as a young man to Seacoast Products Inc. in Lewes and later to Dulac, La. He remained with his father, Capt. C. Wesley Dameron Sr., throughout most of his fishing career and later was employed by Omega Protein Inc. where he worked until retirement.
Wesley Jr. will be remembered by his gentlemanly manner and warm smile. He was a devoted Christian throughout his life.
A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Friday, July 10, 2020, at Roseland Cemetery, Reedville.
