Years of working as an investigative reporter, teaching journalism at major universities and even currently running the communications operations for the Ukraine unit at USAID have all helped lead author Cheryl Reed to honing in on her craft as a novelist and publishing her second realistic non-fiction novel, Map of My Escape.
Cheryl knew from an early age that she wanted to be a writer, specifically a journalist.

“I wanted to change the world in whatever way I could,” she said.
After graduating from the Missouri School of Journalism, she began her decorated career serving as a reporter at a number of publications, including the Chicago-Sun Times, Dayton Daily News, Newport News Daily Press and Florida Today.
Her early days of reporting in Dayton would ultimately lead her to explore her interests in crime and fugitives.
