March was designated by the National Association for Music Education as “Music In Our Schools Month,” a time of year to highlight music education to raise awareness of the importance of music education for all children.
“Music In Our Schools Month” is an opportunity for music teachers to bring their programs to the attention of the community and to display the benefits that school music brings to students of all ages, said music teacher Barbara Hays. She has an extensive background in music education, special education and choral music.
