Chesapeake Bay Commission executive director Swanson to retire; members recognize her achievements

ANNAPOLIS, MD—Chesapeake Bay Commission (CBC) chairman, Maryland Sen. Sarah Elfreth, joined by vice chairmen Pennsylvania Sen. Scott Martin and Virginia Sen. Lynwood Lewis, recently announced they have accepted the retirement of executive director Ann Pesiri Swanson.

She has held the position since 1988, reported administrative officer Jennifer Dieux.

The Chesapeake Bay Commission is a tri-state legislative body that advises the general assemblies of Pennsylvania, Maryland and Virginia on matters of bay-wide concern. For four decades, the majority of the time with Swanson’s guiding hand, members have successfully championed state legislative action, in both policy….
