Twenty-seven years ago a music teacher invited members of the Northern Neck community to join her in forming a chorus. The group of men and women, 20 in number, rehearsed, named themselves The Chesapeake Chorale and gave a concert that same year.
Each year more singers joined the group, coming from five different counties, reported Carole Fletcher. Over the next years, numbers grew to as many as 130, and Christmas concerts took place in Lancaster and Middlesex counties.
