Chesapeake Chorale to present ‘Home for Christmas’

The Chesapeake Chorale will present Christmas concerts at 8 p.m. Friday, December 1, at Northumberland High School, 201 Academic Lane, Claraville; 8 p.m. Saturday, December 2, at Lancaster Middle School, 191 School Street, Kilmarnock; and 3 p.m. Sunday, December 3, at St. Clare Walker Middle School, 6814 General Puller Highway, Locust Hill.

Focusing on music by American composers, the program will include “Sweet Little Jesus Boy,” “Away in a Manger,” “Mary, Did You Know,” and the lighter “‘Twas the Night Before Christmas,” “Baby, It’s Cold Outside” and “White Christmas,” reported Carole Fletcher.

Tickets will be $10 each in advance and at the door.

Advance tickets may be purchased in Kilmarnock at all banks and Heads Up Hairworks; in White Stone at Virginia Commonwealth Bank and Country Cottage; in Hartfield at Sonabank; in Urbanna at Sonabank and Cyndy’s Binn; and in Deltaville at Nauti Nell’s. Tickets also may be purchased from chorale members.

The chorale will also sing at the “Holly and the Ivy” at 3:30 p.m. Monday, December 4, at Historic Christ Church, where food bank donations are requested.
