Christchurch places first in inaugural invitational

It was an exciting weekend for the commemorative launch of Christchurch School’s Jack Dozier ’65 Fleet.

Sailors from as far away as Chicago descended on the Christchurch waterfront to sail the fleet of ZIM FJ sailboats in the Christchurch Fall Invitational, with nine teams launching from the Clyde V. The Christchurch sailors won the event. Placing second, was Duxbury High School of Duxbury, Mass.; third, Evanston Township High School of Chicago.

Other participating schools were Leonardtown High School, Leonardtown, Md.; Norfolk Collegiate School, Norfolk; Donovan Catholic High School, Toms River, N.J.; Fairport High School, Fairport, N.Y.; Xavier High School, Middletown, Conn.; and Three Village CSD, Long Island, N.Y.
