
CALLAO—Clara H. Bryant of Callao went home to be with the Lord on July 21, 2022.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William H. Bryant; her parents, Nellie and Gerald Headley; sisters, Ruth Smither (Carlie), Geraldine Evans (Carroll), Doris Labin (Ed) and Norma Kines (John); brother, Gerald Headley (Charlotte); and brother-in-law, Paul Jones Sr.
She is survived by her two daughters, Marilyn Bryant and Suzanne Hicklin; sister, Eleanor Jones of Heathsville; granddaughter, Robin Nash and husband, William Nash; two great-grandchildren, William Carter Nash and Leighah Marie Nash of Gloucester; and many nieces and nephews.
Clara was known as Mom Mom to her grandchild and great-grandchildren. Mom grew up on the water. She loved fishing and crabbing. She loved spending time with her family, and always looked forward to her spring flowers.
Clara worked at the Bank of Callao and then First Virginia Bank in Callao for 25 years. She was a member of Bethany Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for 30 years with her special friend Olive Jean Thrift and her mom, Mrs. Davis. She also served on the Tape Ministry for many years.
Clara (Mom) was the rock of the family. She will always be remembered for her love of God, family. her giving spirit and beautiful smile.
