IRVINGTON—Clark M. Schumacher, 88, of Irvington died Wednesday, January 27, 2021, at Rappahannock Westminster-Canterbury in Irvington of COVID-19.

Clark was born in Pittsburgh, Pa., on September 29, 1932, to Leon and Georgiana (Lane) Schumacher. He graduated from Kirkwood High School, Kirkwood, Mo., and attended the University of Missouri majoring in agricultural engineering.

He married the love of his life, Anne Elizabeth Grater, on August 17, 1956, and they were happily married for 64 years; she survives him.

Clark worked for Republic Steel as an assistant flat rolled division manager and later as an assistant district sales manager. Later he moved to the Northern Neck and owned See’N O Auto Parts in Warsaw.

After retiring, Clark volunteered at Historic Christ Church in Weems, giving tours and historical presentations. He also enjoyed boating, traveling to all 50 states, golfing and visiting with family.

Surviving are his wife, Anne; son, Richard (Vickie) Schumacher of Rittman, Ohio; daughters, Susan Schumacher Doig of St. Louis, Mo., and Emily Schumacher of Ballwin, Mo.; sister, Emily (Gordon) Pade of Rome, Wis; grandchildren, Scott (Kelly Gordon) Schumacher, Aaron (Yuliya Kim) Schumacher, Kristi (Dakota) Hoffman, Emily (Cedric Sacus) Doig, Ian (Yasme’n Dunmars) Doig, Annie Doig, Lindsey (Nate) Millan and Jordan Breece; and great-grandchildren, Isaiah Sacus, Lana Schumacher, and Olivia and Maxwell Millan.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Leon and Georgiana Schumacher and brother, Lane Schumacher.

He will be buried at Historic Christ Church in Weems. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

Currie Funeral Home LLC of Kilmarnock handled the arrangements.
