The Town of Kilmarnock recently refined the categories for The Classie Memorial Dog Show September 9 at Scotty’s Yard Dog Park, Town Centre Park, 150 North Main Street, Kilmarnock.
The dog show will have over 20 categories for adults, kids and their dogs, reported community development coordinator Ashley M. Jones.
Signup will begin at 9 a.m. on show day, followed by a pooch parade at 10 a.m. and competition. Each entry will be $4 and everyone is reminded to bring food donations for local dog shelters, said Jones.
Categories will include Best Lap Dog, Best Trick, Best Eyes, Longest Ears, Best Paw Shaker, Best Tail Wagger, Best Smoocher (licker), Best Rescue Story, Best Looking Rescue, Best Fetcher, Best Personality (doggie personality), Best Sit, Lie Down and Stay, Best Pedigree under 25 pounds, Best Pedigree over 25 pounds, Best All American Dog (any breed) under 25 pounds, Best All American Dog (any breed) over 25 pounds, Best Costume and Best in Show for both age groups.
Lancaster and Northumberland animal shelters will offer adoptable friends and proceeds from the competition will go to the Animal Welfare League….
