IRVINGTON—The Irvington Planning Commission on Tuesday, September 3, advanced a number of conditional use permit (CUP) applications and proposed ordinance amendments along the pipeline.
According to zoning administrator Justin Nelson, 13 notices were sent to nearby property owners in reference to a CUP application submitted by Albert Pollard Jr. to construct six additional one-bedroom cottages on his business site known as Refuel.
Nelson said of the notices issued, he received back two objections and two letters stating no objection. Nelson reminded the commission that if property owners do not respond to the notices, they will be considered to have no objections of the application at hand.
Nelson read an email from a nearby property owner, Cleland Carter. Her concerns included the new cottages’ potential impact on property values, noise levels, overall usage of the cottages, if they would be used as long- or short-term rentals, if pets would be allowed and privacy.
Pollard stated regulations related to noise will be enforced, small pets would be allowed and that the cottages will fit in aesthetically.
