The Grace Church Yard Sale will be held from 8 a.m. to noon May 6 at YMCA/APYC Camp Kekoka, 1083 Boys Camp Road, Kilmarnock.
Large items are being collected for auction, reported procurement and advertising chairman Judy Ripley. Auction items to date include a Mazda sedan, a 1993 Ford pick up and a Sea-Doo Jet Ski on a trailer.
There are canoes, kayaks and lots of outdoor items from garden furniture to sports equipment, numerous appliances and even a 1960 DXC M7 Sony movie camera in a case with all of its accessories, said Ripley.
“The electronics are a real value and a huge number of fishing lures were donated by ACE hardware,” she said.
The men’s clothing section has a handsome collection of expensive suits and shoes worth much more than they will be sold for, continued Ripley.
Many volunteers are baking and canning goodies for the pantry, located in the midst of the White Elephant and Treasure department. The furniture is sorted and being moved from storage. Plants will be donated the last week.
The Grace Church Yard Sale is a spectacular community event with 100% of the profits returned to organizations in the community.
Volunteers will accept donations from 9 a.m. to noon Fridays and Saturdays through April at the camp.
“The Grace Church Yard Sale committee is very grateful for all the support of this wonderful community,” said Ripley.
